How to combine average heaviness, emotional progressivity and fragile structures to a homogenous piece of music? Let’s ask PRESSURE POINTS, because they managed to present a very good result of this combination on their effort Remorses To Remember.

The band uses influences of Opeth (vocals, alternation), adds unloading progressive parts like Dream Theater and fragile easiness in the style of Anathema. Thereby it is not important, if PRESSURE POINTS set their focus on guitar walls, which are increased more and more till a fulminant ending (just listen to the egregious piece Edge Of Indurance) or if they act in calm and relaxed manner – the band knows to play in all tempos. In addition, I’d like to mention that the instrumentalists show their abilities continuously, but the compositions stay traceable all the time. Every single note got its right place and the group offers some catchy refrains.
Interim, the suspense is boosted by an instrumental piece called Calm, which contrasts the faster tracks in felicitous manner. The nice keyboard sounds and the outstanding acoustic guitars upgrade this album additionally.
I had some problems with the aggressive voice in the beginning, but little by little, this unconventional part went together with the progressive structures at best.

PRESSURE POINTS mingle demanding head-music with down-to-earth emotions. Consequently, their music could appeal to fans liking technical sounds as well as supporters of more calm or catchy tunes. What else could be desired for the heart and the brain?
