Hey Petri, I hope you are doing well!
Petri:
Thanks, I’m doing just fine!!

Janine: After watching your DVD 10th Anniversary Live there came several questions to my mind. I hope you take some time to answer them.
I really enjoyed watching the live DVD, especially the snow storm and the soap bubbles were nice highlights. Was it like playing a normal gig or were you a bit nervous because of the fact that some cameras were focused on you?
Petri:
To me it felt like a "normal" gig and the cameras didn’t bother me at all. That wasn’t the first gig where there were cameras on stage with us but we are always a little bit nervous…

Janine: Sometimes it seems to me that you are on tour all the time. Isn’t it hard to combine the tour life with jobs/studies and family?
Petri:
Sometimes it feels like we are never home but everything has gone very well so far with getting off from jobs and studies… Someday it might be harder...

Janine: How do you deal with playing in the two bands ENSIFERUM and Norther?
Petri:
No problems so far and we have to see what the future brings…

Janine: Isn’t it very hard to find a new way of working with the band members, after so many line-up changes? Are you satisfied with your colleagues’ work?
Petri:
We haven’t changed any of the ways how we work and I think that with this line-up working together is a lot easier and the atmosphere is very loose when we work together with new songs... I can say that we are very satisfied to everyone’s work at the moment.

Janine: Is the MCD Dragonheads a foretaste of future work? When will you enter studio for recording a new full length album?
Petri:
Yes, I could say that MCD is a foretaste of the future but it only has one new song in it so I have to say that these new songs what we have done are a lot faster songs than Dragonheads is…
Studio is already booked for later this year and we are waiting for that very impatiently.

Janine: The vocals on Finnish Medley and Tears are performed by Kaisa Saari, would you like to work with female singers in the future?
Petri:
Why not!!! Working with Kaisa Saari was very much fun and so easy too, so she might be singing on the next album too…

Janine: Does the increase of folk metal bands have a negative effect on quality? What do think about the scene?
Petri:
I don’t think that the amount of bands will give folk metal a bad name. It’s up to the bands to keep the quality up and high and for my opinion, this scene is getting bigger and better all the time and I hope it keeps on growing!!!

Janine: Aren’t you afraid that many people see you as a pure fun band and don’t take your work for full?
Petri:
No, we are not afraid of that and it’s not our problem if someone won’t take our music seriously, ‘coz we play folk metal. We’re doing this very seriously but of course we have to keep the humor in it too, especially when we play live. Playing has to be fun too even you’re doing it very seriously…

Janine: Do you feel like a star in metal scene and did the success change you?
Petri:
No, we don’t feel like stars and if I may ask: What success??!!!!

Janine: Which bands would you like to tour with?
Petri:
Finntroll, Enslaved, there is too many bands to mention right now...

Janine: I wish you all the best for the future and thank you for the interview!
Petri:
Thank you too... And the keep the faith...
