WARRIOR
SOUL live in Germany? Hardly to believe ;) BUT… true!
The last WARRIOR SOUL show in Germany I attended was in
Essen… dating back in 1995 at Zeche Carl, destroying everything.
What long time ago…
Many fans doubted that WARRIOR SOUL would even appear.
The Berlin show was cancelled… but not that short-term as
many thought it was (already 4 weeks ago or so). Anyway, the guys
showed up, me too; just to face a closed door. Show was pushed
back for an hour. Ok, time to have a dinner at Maze’s with
friends and since I was not driving me was allowed to drink, to
the maximum… Food was tasty, beer too; it just took some
time to get everything what made us missing the support band called
SEVERE ZERO. Out of it.

Next drink,
next band, no one had on its bill what left people confused ::
THE
STONED :: UK Immigration Service’s favorite
residents of their jail at Heathrow airport and Kory Clarke’s
second band, where he plays drums in. The bass player wasn’t
with them; instead Janne Jarvis stepped in, Johnny H too, to warm
up themselves for what still has to come ;) Both gently held off,
leaving the boards to frontman Scotty and axeman Adam. Behind
the skins Kory was quite limited in his movement, but though attracted
all attention. Rest was like a side dish, so it seemed. THE
STONED delivered a good show, nothing spectacular, but ok.
Though, music and performance reminds a lot of WS. Cannot be avoided
I guess... Four tracks of having fun with an audience still confused
;) What fun!
Setlist: Nobody Rides For Free, Drunken Drivers From
Space, Bob Seger, Vegas Honeymoon

Afterwards
everybody was rushing closer to the stage, full of expectations
and quite impatient. When :: WARRIOR
SOUL :: finally entered the stage, opening with
Intro, Interzone and Love Destruction, the well-filled
Turock completely freaked out. Woah! What atmosphere! Dunno, what
Kory had in his tea, haven’t seen him going that wild so
far. Tonight’s show for sure topped all WARRIOR SOUL
shows I have seen during the last two years. What a hell of a
show! On stage hell broke loose, in front of the stage too. I
even saw moshpits. Kory was jumping, screaming, throwing himself
down and rolling around, sousing himself with beer and having
lotsa fun, while the others could hardly stop laughing. Freshly
introduced drummer Billy Williams still looked a bit sullen behind
his kit, but that will change, sooner or later I guess. He was
also the reason for only playing one new song (Fuck The Pig),
time was too short to incorporate the rest of the new album …And
We Rock And Roll. Well, I personally would have loved
to see the new songs performed and to see how they get received.
On the other hand… …And We Rock And Roll
is already sold out and so, no longings were awoke (well, maybe
though, after all *lol*). However, there was probably no one nagging
about a show full of WARRIOR SOUL classics ;) Hey, seems
like the guys still have some fans in Germany ;)
Setlist: Intro, Interzone, Love Destruction, Punk And
Belligerant, Losers, Downtown, Blown Away, Fuck The Pigs, Trippin'
On Ecstasy, Lullaby, The Drug, // Let’s Get Wasted, Super
Power Dreamland, Wasteland (no order and not sure)

What hell
of a show. Top 3 in 2009! Definitely! Devastating night, I tell
you. Just to quote someone (who gave up way earlier): “I’m
gettin’ to old for that“. *lol* Too old? Nah. Only
moderately next time ;)
And for everybody out there who didn’t realize yet: WARRIOR
SOUL is back! Cheers!
