Again
a new festival wants to get off the grid and establish itself
in our sizzling capitol. The company behind Amphi Festival, Zita
Rock and the Ball Festivals wants to be :: Darker :: Harder
:: Louder :: then the rest. Mission accomplished I’d
say ;)
At very hot temperatures outside the Columbia area saw around
4000 people shuttling between the C-Club
and the C-Hall.
Between both venues was enough room for a shopping mall, a chill
out zone and drinks. But when it came to food it looked pretty
poor. Only 2 food stands, one with bratwurst and one with rolls
and filled vine leaves (I actually robbed because I was soooo
hungry), and both totally at the crowd’s mercy. Dear organizers,
next time you have to care for much more food!
I on the other hand was deeply impressed by the crew behind the
bar at C-Hall. You hardly see so many people working that efficient
and fast at such events. No queues, no waiting. In no time you
got your cold brewski ;) Much less impressing the air condition
was. No grain of oxygen down in the hall, upstairs on the balcony
(when opened at the middle of the festival), it was windy and
almost too cold. Same goes for the sound: down it was bad, dull
and unbalanced, upstairs sound was almost brilliant.

Anyway, for
35/45 Euros a great billing was offered with most bands equally
to each other. COVENANT as a synth Pop band felt a bit
misplaced and delivered - as if it was foreboding - the worst
gig ever in their history. Other bands I have never heard of before
but emerged as surprisingly great ;)
But before
I could enjoy everything the E-TROPOLIS FESTIVAL had to
offer our ride sharing had to take the approx. 400 km towards
Berlin. It was unbelievably hot and we melted in the one or the
other traffic jam. In between we allowed ourselves cake and ice
cream… in one, and even tasty, followed by boozy evening
with friends when we finally arrived (thanks a lot for this great
weekend *cuddles*) :) The festival day saw me feeling a bit queasy
*laughs* but prevented me from drinking booze at the festival,
which was generally a good idea and kept me away from headaches
the next day ;)
Ok, since
the first edition of E-TROPOLIS FESTIVAL was a full success,
the organizers already confirmed the second edition, taking place
on September 3, 2011. Same place. Looking forward… ;)
