The raven
is back and again with something special. After Carmina
Burana and Cantus Buranus II now comes an
extract of both works. But it is not a best of compilation rather
than a rearrangement of all songs for an organ. And there we come
to the difficulties. Already Cantus Buranus is not
an opus you would call metal at all (there’s also no need
for ;) – Cal) but this one is even further away from that.
Due to this completely different style and area of music, my musical
limits are reached and I am not able to judge this work properly.
Nevertheless the songs are musically elaborated and for lovers
of sacral music or the work of Carl Orff for sure a pearl in their
collection. The tracks are carefully chosen and perfectly arranged.
However this does not change the fact that one must provide a
minimum of knowledge about music and addictedness to sacral sounds
to enjoy the record in full length. Because it is not my will
to talk bad about the album I give no points rather than a star
for “no valuation because of specialty”.
