[Dajana] Finally, finally! Time has come! *jumps* The best summer open air comes last to finish the festival season :) Yeah, it’s time to attend our beloved PARTY SAN OPEN AIR. I’m grinning like a Cheshire cat for days (if not even for weeks) and my high spirits help to survive some banal pitfalls. Can’t wait to get into full swing ;)
[BRT] Yeah, the bar was raised high by last year’s edition, but this year’s billing promised even more, raising my anticipation. And I’m already thirsty for dark beer. Damn! Can we start already? Now?

[Dajana] And again we infected someone with our tales that way that she urgently needed to attend the festival: Seda :)

[Seda] Yeah, my very first PARTY SAN OPEN AIR and I’m thrilled to go to Schlotheim and to be part of the festival family. Our journey got started under a grey sky and gentle rain but at the hell’s gate sun broke through. “Welcome To Hell”! What a statement to start a festival with ;)

[Dajana] Let’s ride the road to hell ;) Schlotheim here we come. This year’s billing of PARTY SAN OPEN AIR is just breathtaking and I don’t know where to start. Ok, CARCASS first of course! And then… ALCEST and VENOM and FARSOT and HOODED MENACE and… and…

[BRT] The line-up seems to be more diversified but offered one weak spot among the headliners. It got quickly clear that for most of the festival attendees CARCASS was the secret headliner, but just got a co-headlining slot, whereas many did not understand why HEAVEN SHALL BURN was the headliner for Thursday. Furthermore this year’s billing was so dense and packed that I might be admitted into the loony bin right after… or to go on vacation instead (perfectly planned, isn’t it? ;)). Those are the band I’m most looking for: SKELETAL REMAINS, PROCESSION, SULPHUR AEON und PRIMORDIAL… just to name a few. It got to be great!

[Dajana] Meanwhile weather figured out that too much sun and heat is not the best for drinking metal heads during a festival and cooled down to tolerable 24°C and some clouds. Though sun was burning on Friday and kept the paramedics busy.

[Dajana] From the organizational point of view there is once again not that much to nag about. Sound was bad every now and then. Showers and toilets got again reduced, which is bad but due to the water pressure situation as I learnt. Pricing for drinks and food did not increase, except for the Thai booth that increased a lot! As for that there was a new one, an Afghan booth, very, very delicious and much frequented.
